Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage

What are the benefits to receiving lymphatic drainage?

Lymphatic drainage is a light, skin-stretching massage that helps promote the movement of lymphatic fluid out of the swollen limb and holds many differences from a conventional massage.

MLD follows a specific sequence, starting with the unaffected areas and gradually moving towards the affected area. This method helps to redirect the lymphatic fluid, promoting a more balanced flow.

Deep breathing techniques (diaphragmatic breathing) are also usually provided as supplementary therapy, as this can help open the deep lymphatic pathways, ultimately aiding in relaxation and increasing fluid movement towards the heart.
