How do I incorporate Strength and Conditioning with my patients?
I get incredibly frustrated when I see a theraband external rotation given to a patient/athlete for issues such as shoulder impingement! While exercise such as this has benefits, the classic rehab prescription you may see of 3x10 does not ensure long-term success and a comprehensive return to sport.
Having previously worked as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach, I understand the core strength and conditioning principles to help rehabilitate your injury to the best of your ability so you can get back to striving for high performance. Physiotherapy and strength and conditioning should work hand in hand. Unfortunately, many physiotherapists don't effectively utilise effective periodisation, outcome measures or exit criteria for performance outcomes; instead, they work in isolation without consulting with strength and conditioning coaches.
Integrating both strategies into my rehabilitation guarantees a holistic approach to get you back to playing your sport injury-free!
